Relocation: Grand Opening of Networks Centre

Many people can relate to moving home after living in the same house for over a decade. You accumulate a lot of stuff; Its nerve racking exchanging contracts; Getting the existing home spruced up and having to sort out what must be thrown away. Moving our business that had been based at the same location at Broadbridge Heath for 13 years, had similar challenges only multiplied many times. Above all, it required a lot of meticulous planning and ample funds. When a business has grown organically and is spread across multiple business units as we were that’s a real headache! Most importantly the business must maintain customer service without any disruption.  The move had to be phased over several months and the whole operation was captured by a video unit in time-lapse as covered by our earlier blog.

Due largely to the skilful leadership of Duncan Lindsay, our MD we have achieved the move without causing any major disruption to customers: It was more than worthy of a grand opening and tape cutting ceremony! This was almost certainly the biggest milestone for Networks Centre, happening on the back of our acquisition of Comms Centre International.

Our prestigious new offices at Bentley House, Wiston Business Park near Ashington brings everything back together under one roof as it was in beginning, except now with nearly 5 x the space and a brand-new £1m fit out. Networks Centre HQ consists of a single large warehouse, smart new sales offices and a new training facility including a lecture room and practical workshop. There are also 4 conference rooms and other amenities include an archive room, canteen and reception area. Further plans include additional production facilities. From humble beginnings in 2005 employing just 4 people, Networks Centre now employs some 50 people and have ample room at these new premises to expand further.

For the special occasion last Friday 12 October, we were privileged to have been joined by several local dignitaries: Jeremy Quin MP for Horsham Nick Herbert MP for Arundel & South Downs Peter Burgess Horsham District Council Chairman and Gordon Lindsay Horsham District Council Councillor

They were given a tour of the facility where network infrastructure products and cabling solutions are warehoused, consolidated and shipped to a variety of markets both in the UK and overseas. Typically used for data centres, commercial buildings, industrial and broadband networks.

With this official opening of our new HQ, we want to say a huge thanks to our customers, suppliers, and team, who have supported the Networks Centre group through the past 13 years of business. Here's to the next 13!
