This intensive 3-day training course will provide delegates with the knowledge and installation skills that are needed to install, terminate and test copper cabling for data comms structured cabling data networks.

This course covers the key tasks that have to be performed on data comms cabling that is installed within the built environment, within the premises, in an internal environment; this includes commercial office environments, public buildings, hospitals, airports, and data centres as well as other types of buildings where networks are deployed. The installation skills and underpinning knowledge gained on the course can be applied to all types of data cabling, as used for commercial environments, including large office data cabling systems, premises networks and industrial communications cabling networks. We also look at the latest trends in SoHo networks.

The course focuses on key aspects of health and safety, the correct selection of tools, equipment and components, as well as the correct working, practises that are typically used for the installation of network cabling and structured cabling that support the transmission of data, voice and video.

What are the course requirements?

City & Guilds 3667-02 Copper Cabling in an Internal Environment training is a level 2 qualification. Basic knowledge of structured cabling systems would be beneficial, but not essential.

How do you complete the course?

All candidates are assessed via 2 separate examinations, which comprise of 25 multiple-choice questions. City & Guilds 3667-02, Unit 104: Copper Cabling is a closed book examination and carried out using the computer-based City and Guilds Gola System. All candidates are given their results at the end of the examination.
