Fibre cables are available for every application, whether for internal or external use. Networks Centre will have a cable to suit your requirement. Standard loose tube and tight buffered constructions with singlemode and multimode fibres available from stock.

Available in 62.5/125um, 50/125um, OM3 and Singlemode.

Loose Tube

Applications:

Internal and external use.
Ducts, aerial installations and direct burial.
Distribution and general purpose cables.

Description:

Cable consists of a single tube containing 2 up to 24 fibres.
Water blocking gel.
When there are more than 12 fibres, they are divided in two groups where
a coloured thread identifies each group.
Physical protection and tensile strength are provided by aramid yarn or fibreglass wound around the tube.
LSZH sheath for internal and external use. A ripcord is located under the jacket to facilitate jacket removal.
Suitable for flooded ducts.
Polyethylene jacket available.

Tight Buffered

Applications:

Short and medium distance.
As a riser, plenum, or general purpose cable.
Interconnection of distribution boxes and customer equipment, between floors.

Description:

4 - 72 fibres individually buffered to 0.9mm in a tight or semi tight construction and coded.
4 - 12 fibre cables contain individual fibres without sub-units.
16 - 72 fibre cables the fibres are grouped in sub-units.
4 - 12 fibre cables, the individual fibres are stranded and protected by aramid yarn and a LSZH jacket (other jackets available upon request).
16 - 72 fibre cables, the fibres are grouped into sub-units which are laid helically along the cable axis.
Each sub-unit contains 4 - 6 fibres, aramid yarn and a LSZH jacket (other jackets available upon request.
A ripcord is located under the jacket to facilitate jacket removal.

Simplex, Zipcord and Flat Twin

Applications:

Indoor general purpose cable.
Interconnect cable for jumpers, patch-leads or pigtails.

Description:

Simplex

Single fibre buffered to 0.9mm in a tight or semi-tight construction.
Available in 2.8mm (standard) and 1.7mm construction (mini).

Duplex

Two fibres buffered to 0.9mm in a tight or semi-tight construction
Available in 2.8mm (standard) and 1.7mm construction (mini).

Flat Twin

Two simplex units of fibres buffered to 0.9mm in a tight or semi-tight construction.
Standard diameter of the two colour coded units is 2.8mm
(other sizes available upon request).
