The KBC ThruLink is a hardware VPN device that allows secure communications to be established over any standard, public or private TCP/IP network. ThruLink performs behind firewalls, NAT devices and through nearly any other type of network configuration and offers encrypted communication for all TCP/IP protocols regardless of the type of traffic.
What is it used for?
When deployed, ThruLink provides a secure and encrypted tunnel for network communications that will not affect TTL, UPnP, VLAN information, broadcast, multicast, or any other traffic. Mobile Connections Whether it’s public transport or on-board surveillance, ThruLink allows you to send secure, real-time video wirelessly over a 3G network. ThruLink optimises the connection allowing you to send video and PTZ data over a satellite link
How can ThruLink Beneifit you?
- By Cutting out the Cost of Leased Lines
If your CCTV network uses leased lines, ThruLink can replace those links by sending the video surveillance securely across the internet.
By setting up the link with ThruLink, you can select either AES-128 or Blowfish-128 encryption to ensure that the video remains secure.
As long as you have an internet connection*, ThruLink allows you to send sensitive information such as payment data over a public network. It uses AES 128 or Blowfish 128 encryption.
By encapsulating the data, ThruLink allows you to send multicast traffic over a broadband link.
ThruLink makes a WAN connection appear as a simple LAN-to-LAN connection allowing Pelco - Endura to work over a WAN.
*ThruLink optimises the connection but ultimately, signal throughput and quality are dependent upon the available bandwidth from the network provider.’
How does it work?
- KBC's ThruLink is making it possible for police patrol cars to stream video surveillance footage securely over a public 3G network back to a central security office. This product has endless possibilities. Please note: This clip of the video monitor was shot with a camera phone. The stream is much better in person.
